The guy I've just painted the Dr Who figures for has asked me my advice on what rules are best for WW2 skirmishing (section level). He's considering the Frontline rules from BAM.

I haven't gamed for quite some time, so not in a position to help him much. Any suggestions ?

There is a thread in here somewhere on this very subject.

Depends on size and how historical they want to get.

Ook the list is endless, well no actually it's not but there are a lot of rule sets. I'm using Disposable Heroes from Iron Ivan.

Rules of Engagement look good but I have no experience of them.

HI,
DH is very good and has a lot of support. They have lists covering everyhting from Finns to Japanease as well as allof the usual lists.

Havn't played RoE but I've heard its good. They have a lot of downloadable lists based on the BAM range of figures.

Hope this helps

Thanks guys. Disposable Heroes is certainly one I've heard good things about before, so have passed on your comments about it and the others mentioned here.

The only drawback I can see with Disposable Heroes is that it requires quite a few figures; anyway to make it so we could play sooner my mate printed out some 1" circular helmet tokens (minis are on 1" fender washers) which we'll replace as soon as more figures get painted. Not ideal but as I've only got 14 part done so far, it does make the game playable.
