Isn't Andrea just Vallejo with a different label? |
No

Are you going to use their colour scheme or do something different, Sascha? |

I was thinking of painting the fur in some sort of "snow leopard" look as somehow I feel he is hunting in some snowy conditions.
I also thought on giving him some celtic looking bluish tatoos (Reference Dave T )
Everything else I just leave to how I feel at the time of painting but I will give him some reddish brown trousers and will keep the rest quite earthy.

I find most of them better than Vallejo. Mostly because of the flatness of the paint. I also have less trouble with thick paint residue clogging up the dropper at the top of the bottle.
I used to get my from Historex Agents in the UK. There should be another supplier in the US though

Yep, that is the one.
I can only recommend it. Time consuming mixing but the results are talking for themselves. That is why I only use them for real display pieces and not for economic wargaming paint jobs. Would drive me crazy otherwise
I really like them.

Well it's for my own minis and they always take ages to get done so that shouldn't be an issue
Thanks again!

Not really sure there. I was alway under the impression that it was something real different. I have most of the whole vallejo range and consider it not to be even half as good as Andrea.
Never mind they still work for me

Well I don't like Vallejo much its grainy and too inconsistent but most do so ... anyway I snagged their last boxed set and it'll be on it's way in the morning!

As Sascha says, these are different paints.
I have the flesh set and a sampling of some others - as recommended by Sascha a while ago. I use both VMC and VGC and these Andrea paints look, feel and are quite a bit different and took me a while to get used to. Also, apart from the flesh set I bought the "old" range. These in the US appear to be the new "improved" range.
I have actually used the Flesh set, as an experiment, on "ordinary" figures and they work well for that too.
