I'm working on a bunch of 'amazons' from Fortress Figures. I'm doing them as sort of a warrior cult of Athena, to whom the Owl is a totem animal.

Here are some WIP shots of some stylized Owl shield motifs I'm working on:

They are integral with the amazons, from Fortress Figures:

my battery died right after I snapped this one, before I could get one in better focus. Ah well, WIP and all. :p

did a little more work on the champion's shield. I'll call that done.

You need to send your pictures to Fortress; they look bloody horrible on their website - wouldn't even know it was the same figure.

nothing new on the first 4 amazons, other than base texture added.

Artemis, from my other thread, is done, just awaiting her shield. . .

she doesn't look too bad with them. I was worried her about her slightly more delicate scale standing out with the Fortress figs. . . it's still there. . . but it could /almost/ be written off, to human variation. . . dunno. I'll withhold judgement on wether or not she's included in the unit untill I get the other 4 done.

They are very pretty.
By the way, for a description, amazons must be without left breast, for good bow shooting.

thanks for the kind words thus far all.

the second half of them are in progress now. I was having a hard time staying focused today in the early stages. Something about not seeing any real progress in those base coats. . .even when you know you need them. So I'm finally about ready to start stronger shading, and then the highlights. . . when stuff starts happening that makes them look cool, that helps with the motivation.
